貝印株式会社の社内報でありフリーマガジンでもある「FACT MAGAZINE」のアートディレクション／企画制作／エディトリアルデザインを担当。毎号、貝印の支社のある都市（ポートランド、ハノイ、岐阜、上海、東京、パリ、ゾーリンゲン、デリーなど）に赴き、クラフトマンシップに触れるとともに、現地の熱気や人柄を紹介しています。表紙はクラフト紙にシルクスクリーン印刷するなど、丁寧に作り込むことによって、貝印という「ものづくり企業」のこだわりを表現。ゾーリンゲン号においては現地アーティストとコラボレートした表紙を制作するなど、コミュニケーションのなかからクリエイティブを作り込んでいきました。全15号。
「FACT MAGAZINE」の発行と連動して、オリジナルのスウェットや各号の表紙カラーを落とし込んだステッカー、全15号がちょうど収まるショッパーなども制作。また、「ONLY FREE PAPER」からのお声がけでD-LAND LOUNGEにおいて展覧会を開催、7インチレコードの判型を生かしてレコード棚をイメージしたオリジナル書棚を制作するなど、展示ディレクションも担当しました。
In charge of art direction/planning/editorial design of “FACT MAGAZINE”, the free company magazine of kai corporation. Each issue visits a different city that hosts one of the company’s branches (Portland, Hanoi, Gifu, Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris, Solingen, Delhi, etc.) to learn about the applied local craftsmanship and introduce the distinct passion and personality of the area. The cover of the magazine is carefully crafted using silk-screen printing on kraft paper, to properly express the commitment of kai as a manufacturing and “maker” company. For the Solingen issue, in creating the cover page in collaboration with local artists, the communication aspect of creativity was brought out. In total there are 15 issues.
In conjunction with the printing of “FACT MAGAZINE”, we also produced original sweatshirts, stickers coordinated with the cover colour of each issue, and tote-bags that fit perfectly to the width of all 15 issues. In addition, in response to the request by ONLY FREE PAPER, we held an exhibition at D-LAND LOUNGE, where we were in charge of exhibition direction, including making an original bookcase that was modelled off shelves for 7-inch records.
